An old entry. We had family dinner at 海珍 which was our favorite Chinese restaurant before Mission 261. ^^;; They’re still really good though (and cheaper), especially dinner. Thai Seafood salad, Scapllop stir fry in XO sauce, Typhoon Shelter Crab (the little pieces are garlic), “chicken leg” mushroom in Pumpkin sauce (excuse me for not knowing the English of this type of mushroom ^^;;, it’s called such way in HK becoz it tastes a bit like chicken). Everything taste really good and unqiue! BTW if you find Mission 261’s dim sum too expensive, 海珍 is the next best one you should go to for genuinely good dim sum.
888 Seafood restaurant (San Gabriel)
//// By Joan in 01: San GabrielHouston’s (Century City)
//// By Joan in 10: Beverly HillsI always heard that their steak is supposedly really good, though I’m skeptical and bias against chains. ^^;; So under suspicious, I tried the Millet Mignon. It’s….umm…not good nor bad, just plain -__-;;, Also it cost $31 (!!!), compare to the super good ones at Cafe Beajoulais which was only $16.50, this is just way too over-price. 🙁 My friend had the rib which I forgot to take pix of (only bones). It’s pretty good. The appetizer is this baked cheese spinach dip thing (eat with corn chips) which is quite yummy.

One of my favorite work day walking distance lunch place. It’s quite an authenic family-own Japanese ramen place. Lotus root, yummy but a bit too strong tasting. Sapporo Miso Ramen, this is the half-size portion which is enough for me. I always get this, quite addictive. ^^; Oyakodon.

Green tea and Ginger ice-cream. The ginger one is very good, there are little chop pieces in it, delicious~~
Cafe Midi (La Brea)
//// By Joan in 09: WehoBack to one of my favorite places to eat on work days since it’s right next to American rag Cie. See past entries here. I forgot the names of them and too lazy to find out ^^;; It’s some sort of Omelette and I think the other is a Tuna Rivioli. Both are yummy. The pie is Orange chocolate, I think the pear + choco one is better.

Perhaps due to stress recently, we craved burgers and fries more than usual? ^^;;The counter is a very interesting burger place, other than their regular menu which is filled with unqiue sounding burgers, you can custom made your own! Though due to pass failure, we decided to just go with burgers on the menu. ^^;; Sweet Potato Fries, pretty good too. Fried Pickle chips, I never had this before and it’s delicious! Strawberry Malt and Coffee Malt (not in pix), taste just like regular milk shake to me ^^;;;

The counter burger and Turkey Burger, man it doesn’t even taste like a burger. There’re dried cranberries ^^;; The taste is quite a novelty but I wouldn’t say it’s very delicious that’s worthy to have again. Also there are so much stuffs in the burger that you just simply can’t pick it up and eat in one piece. I pretty much have to use knift and fork to cut it into pieces. I say Pie n’ Burger ‘s burgers are a lot better! Traditional burger is still the best.
