Ikea (Covina)

//// By in 18: Greater LA

DSC01759.jpgDSC01748.jpgPicked up some furnitures at Ikea over the weekend. I’ve never been to the Covina one and it’s GIGANTIC!!! *o* They even have their own street (Ikea Street) and very spacious but organize inside (I always get lost at the Burbank one). Best of all it has items I never saw in other Ikea (since I just went to Burbank one the day before), it got a well-stocked, near complete collection. The cafe area is nice with all window view to the mountain and freeways. XD $8 for two people: frozen Swedish meatballs (with potato and berry gravy), salad, veggie soup, chocolate mousse, apple juice, coffee…^^;; Well, processed food always stuff you full for the rest of the day!

Cafe Milan (Playa del Rey)

//// By in 14: Marina del Rey

DSC01704.jpgDSC01707.jpgLocate across the street. i spotted some umbrellas and the word “cafe” and dash right over. It’s a nice Italian cafe that served Illy coffee. There’s a personal feeling to it that I really like, such as one wall is full of someone’s photographs in frames (seems to be owner or owner’s friend, very amaetuer). The other wall that I didn’t capture are a huge collages of photographs of family and friends. A panel on top across are photos of actors/singers/stars with their signature on it (all B-class or lower ^^;;).

DSC01706.jpgDSC01705.jpgMinestrone and Italian Omlette $6.50 There are prosciutto, dried tomato, eggplant, zuchini & mozzarella in it. Surprisingly very GOOD and DELICIOUS!!! *o* I’m so happy~ The grilled potatoes are so yummy. I think it’s the dried tomatoes that did the magic for the omlette.

Bistro du Soleil (Playa del Rey)

//// By in 14: Marina del Rey

DSC01693.jpgDSC01697.jpgNearby my office (less than 20 steps), there’s a cute casual French restaurant~~ It reminded me of this, small little family business. It’s on a slope. I LOVE the interior, the wood walls, mirrors, menus written on glass windows…so beautiful~~ *_*

DSC01699.jpgDSC01700.jpgVegetable Crepe $7.50 and Creme Brulee $5 But the food is no good -,- The Veggie crepe is too normal. My god that’s the sweetest creme brulee I have in my life.

//// By in 14: Marina del Rey

DSC01679.jpgDSC01680.jpgSomeone (one of you guys?) recommend it to me before and I finally tried it! There’s one right next to the office. The coffee’s very good, very rich~ cool retro ‘run-down’ interior.

Bistro L’Hermitage (Culver City)

//// By in 13: Culver City

DSC01655.jpgDSC01663.jpg

We found Bistro L’Hermitage, a very nice non-fusion French restaurant there. It’s causal, non-expensive nor pretentious, and open at lunch even on the weekend! It was a beautiful day so we sit outside (so the interior pix is taken from outside through a glass).

DSC01658.jpgDSC01660.jpgDSC01664.jpg

Beside butter, the bread comes with whole jars of Jams! (3 flavors: Peach, strawberry and Grape). Ice tea, and Illy coffee (great!)

DSC01668.jpgDuck Pate Salad $8.00 Yummy!

DSC01666.jpg Lamb chop with potato gratin $15.00 really GOOD! I had it super rare, which did frightened me a bit at one point…”it is kinda raw isn’t it?” ^^;;;

DSC01670.jpgPear Tart $5.65 So-so…
