Two days worth of lunch back at the Sun Bistro. I have to work post-Christmas (only Joan got holiday). Despite I said their food are no good last time, their cozy all-wood interior is too nice so I tend to go there for lunch break. They have this $8 soup du jour + salad combo so I can anticipate different soup each day. ^^;; Again their problem is the lack of subtlety: either taste too strong, too salty and intense or absolutely no taste. Right: Zucchini soup with a touch of curry Left: Cream of Mushroom. The soups are very thick and stomach-filling. The strong taste satisfied the “salty-bug” in me ^^;;
The tsunami catastrophe in Southern Asia are absolutely horrifying. I will never look at beach and seaside town the same ever again…
i heard on the radio today that the total death reach 44000 and are still climing. . . dead body were everywhere on the beach, and many children died since they are too small/weak to run and hide from the wave/earthquake. veron told me her family are safe here, but the after effect will sure ripple through out the asia countries.
I am surpised to hear that the killer waves were only a few tens of metres high yet so devastating. Always thought tsunami was something taller…watched too much cartoons/movies. ^^;;;

I think everyone who’s seen The Day after Tomorrow immediately made the link;;; Do you gals know about the hundreds of whales and dolphins that got washed up to the shore in NZ and Australia a few weeks ago, and the tens of thousands of penguins in South Pole that were blocked from the seaside (where they get food) by a huge chunk iceberg? Global warming sounds more evil than ever…
I know what you mean RP. . . that’s why I am saving money to buy a hybrid car. I am not a big fan for end of days kind of movie, but The Day After Tomorrow really touched me somehow. I am doing my little part in hoping that will make a difference for this earth we live on. . . and I heard the baby penguins at South Pole will sure to die of starvation due to the iceberg. . . well, if you ever see lots of bird fleeting your area, just run with them I guess. . .
I guess the devastating part of the tidal waves is not the height, but the destructive speed, volume and force of it. Many people got killed by things collaspse on them when the waves crush buildings into pieces. With great natural disaster like this, many things suddenly seems so insignificant now 🙁
I agree. We ‘re suppose to shop for our new home this couple days. . .but I just can’t stop thinking about what happened in south Asia. I read in the news that the 35 million US donated to aid was only 1/4200 of what they spend for war in Iraq. . . this country we live in has no right to invate others and talk about humanity at the same time! btw, the death has reach 80000 so far . . . the red cross is accepting donation now, and money is better than clothing or food. If you guys are interested in making a contribution. . . I am thankful that I have a place to stay with clean water and food everyday. . .
