More sweet shop! Yee Shun Milk Company is a famous chain from Macau specialized in milk and custard based dessert.
Their signature desserts: Steamed Milk in Two Films, and Steamed Milk with Ginger Juice. Both are very good but the former just win hands down! The texture is very smooth and soft, and the milk flavor is very VERY rich.
I just love their logo! They also have a classic Hong Kong cafe food menu of sandwich and macaroni.

Sounds awesome! I like the steamed milk with ginger a lot but haven’t heard of the steamed milk in two films. Wonder what is special about that dish!
I’m from HK and have been reading your website for a while. This HK feature just brings back all the old memories. I hope I can taste them soon.
Freda. I really enjoyed your blog. It’s awesome. I also like this kind of dessert. When will you be back to LA. Let’s go Japanese food again with Yan
Hey Angus, thanks for visiting my blog!
ETE: oh Steamed Milk in two films is a lot different, it’s smoother and richer tasting (because it’s been boiled and ‘film-forming’ twice in the process…hence the more ‘condensed’ flavors).
Leah: thank you for visiting my blog! I have so much fun eating these old favorites in HK…it’s extra delicious because of the old memories. 😀
Thanks for your blog which share the many varieties of sweet desserts and food from HK!
We went to some of the HKer’s favorites ChaChaanTeng from your blog.
I’m from HK and just got back from awesome 2 months living there.
Our family went to Yee Shun Milk Co. almost every night for dessert after shopping and dining out at the fantastic restaurants nearby.
The Steamed Milk in two films (aka..double-skin milk) is definitely the best.
For sushi, we enjoyed at the Japan Boat Restaurant.
