Café du Village (Larchmont)

By in 07: Mid-Wilshire

DSC01011.jpg Went to Café du Village on Friday, it is a casual but crammed little French cafe at Larchmont Village. (Seat, it’s the one I took you to when you first arrived LA 😀 ). It was first recommened by a self-proclaimed gourmet expert (my ex-teacher/AD) for value and taste, he also onced claimed Fred 62 (see few entries below) has the “best pancake in the world” (which I tried before…taste normal….^^:;;)

DSC01009.jpg$8.75 Forgot the name, it’s a salad with Sesema Ahi Tuna, Mango, Caramalize Walnut and Cripsy wonton. Lots of different flavor in one so it’s pretty good.

DSC01006.jpgLamb Chop with Honey Mustard Sauce $12.99 I feel like eating meaty meat these days. It is very tender, juicy, YUM~~ Very satisfied!

DSC01012.jpgNutella Crepe $4.55 Yummy~~~

    Oh I really like the Brie sandwich there.

    That Lamb chop looks soooooooo good~~~honey mustard sauce sounds amazingly tempting too!! I should have ordered that when I was there!! The white stuff is smashed potato? But there is already fries…

  2. Freda says:

    haha the side you can choose either salad, fries and mashed potato. But I’m too addicted to potato so I got “half fries, half mashed potato” ^^;;;

  3. seat says:

    I am surprised! I thought you would definitely leave the chips untouched or at least not eat all of them. ^^;;

  4. Joan says:

    Ooo you remember the Brie sandwich! Yeah that was good!

    hey joan, if you want really good pancake, try marston on walnut. http://www.marstonsrestaurant.com they serve the best blueberry pancake!!!! i took veron there before, and she loved it . the restaurant is known for home made organic food. i never try their lunch or dinner, but i heard it’s really good too. the restaurant is set in a house and the parkling can only take about 6~8 cars. so arrive early or make reservation if you can.

  6. Joan says:

    It looks like a family restaurant?
    See the thing is you can’t really go wrong with Pancake, so no matter how “world best” they are they’re still not THAT good. Some of Fred 62’s pancakes are weird “creative” ones, which I tried and they still just taste like pancakes, it’s just taste good in the “pancake” standard, which aren’t THAT hard to be yummy ^^;;

  7. seat says:

    By pancake you mean those American ones with syrup and butter type? Not French crepe?

  8. tina says:

    well, i am not a pancake person. . .they are too thick and oily for me. but the ones at marston is very thin crape like with fresh blueberries. i can never get tire of them. and they only have blueberry pancake. i don’t think they even have regular pancake. . .not sure. . . since i always order that. anyways, you should really try this one. . .

  9. Joan says:

    Tina why don’t you bring me there sometime? 😀

  10. tina says:

    sounds good!!! if sunday is not raining, lets go there then.

  11. Joan says:

    Ah raining suck so much, whenever it rains the street of my office always get badly flooded, like tonight (had to work OT). It was terrible, my feet wass completely soaked in the 1 feet puddle (EWWWW~~~~~grooooossssssssssss) XO~~~

    Let’s hope it doesn’t rain this weekend. May be we should go see movie too (The Grudge? Actually I want to see “Motorcycle Diaries”!)

  12. seat says:

    It is raining in L.A. too?? It is typhoon (AGAIN) in Japan!!

  13. tina says:

    i don’t mind the rain so much cuz it remines me of home. but in this weather i rather be home sipping coffee and reading a good book. . . yeah, marston has nice patio tables, not so much fun when it rains then. plus the inside is tiny, and i hate crowed, wet restaurant .

    haaa, i knew you guys would want to see Motorcycle Diaries, but i am more rooting for The Grudge. we’ll see. this weekend is the first in two month that i am free. want to enjoy it as much as i can, plus catch up with sleep. i left the office at 7pm last nite. . . i know it doesn’t sound much, but remember i have to be in the office by 8am and wake up by 6am . . . . so . . . i look like a panda now!!!

  14. Joan says:

    I’m so shallow, when I first heard about “Motorcycle Diaries”, I immediately think “is there hot gay scene like in Y Tu mama Tambien?” ^^;;; (since both are road trip movie, directed by Latino director, has Gael Garc
