Bosco Cake Salon (Koreatown)

There are at least two of this Korean Pastry & coffeehouse within blocks of each other (one at California Market and the other at the Chapman Plaza). I went to the one at Chapman Plaza. They have a good range of French (or Japanese French)-influenced pastries. They looked a bit plain and less delicate than I’m used to. They are alright. We had the Yam Cake and the yummy Coffee icecream with Red Bean Bingsoo (the little white bites are mochi). The interior is a bit tried-too-hard girly classic French cafe, and annoying Korean pop was blasting loud. The patio is quite nice (but facing the parking lot) ^^;;

Abbot’s Pizza (Abbot Kinney)

//// By in 15: Venice

DSC09640.jpgWhen you crave something and you can’t have it, you want it even more (but you can’t). This is what happened when we forgot Bay Cities doesn’t open on Mondays T__T and have to turn around our car around. We ended up at Abbot’s Pizza for quick fix, not bad. I got the Gypsy Pie which has Ricotta cheese, very lovely texture on a pizza (somehow I always associate Ricotta with something desserty). The crust was a bit stale though, seems like the slice been sitting for long. Since they constantly making new pizza in open kitchen I figure maybe no one order this one but me ^^;; Their salad pizza is very popular that day.

Ruen Pair (Thai Town)

//// By in 04: Los Feliz

DSC09630.jpgThough I wrote entries about my favorite restaurant in Thai town many times, but I always crave the same duck stew noodle and keep ordering the same thing. For blog worthy sake, one of these days I got to order something different. Anyway their Lungan drinks and Plum tea are good, strong sweet chillness to balance their strong tasting dishes.

Pan-grilled Pork Loin with Egg

//// By in Food: Kitchen

DSC09619.jpgPan-grilled Pork Loin with Egg and salad I suck at cutting and presentation, but this is more yummy than its messy look (and yeah I suck at sunnyside up too). I used soy sauce and sugar to marinate the pork for…about 3 minutes ^^;; but it’s still tasty enough because I pour it all over with Vietnamese sauce (fish sauce + lime + sugar + water + garlic).

M Grill (Wilshire Park)

//// By in 07: Mid-Wilshire

There were four of us, looking for a walking distance bar/restaurant nearby where our house. I’m surprised to find this Brazilian Steak house across the street.

I’m addicted to cheese bread. But they don’t have a full bar.

The salad buffet has a pretty good selections. Love the non-oily crusty plantain especially. This place is the Churrascaria type with fixed Prix dinner. It is the sort of carnivore heaven where servers came around each table with various type of BBQ/roasted meat stabbed on a blade all night, and slice a piece on your demand (and I learned that this service is called “Rodizio”). Here’re some:

DSC09614.jpgMy favorite is the tender prime rib, mostly good though I can’t distinguish some of them apart as I’m lost in carnivorous bliss. One chicken was a bit dry. There were also sausages and ham but the pictures came out yucky. So full but not that satisfying because there isn’t as much variety of meat… either beef or chicken…(no lamb?)
