Super old entry. I debated myself should I post this or not. ^^;;; Hey what the heck, just treat this as a freekshow. I got dragged here by my collegues, it’s a restaurant right next to our office. I always joke about it because it seems sooooo bad and tacky. Their signage of a tough cowboy with beer and steak basically sums it up. I always see cops and guys in Harley Davidson go in there. Everyone’s been telling how crazily huge portion and all-about-meat the food are. When I walked in there I felt like an alien.

I thought I was smartass to avoid the assault of meat: I’ll get a soup! Turns out their ‘soup’ is more like gravy — super thick meat gravy. This is among the grossiest thing I’ve ever had. My collegues got ribs, they don’t seem big in pic but they’re actually bigger and longer than my body. Taste gross too: dry tasteless meat and overkilled with these assulting BBQ sauce. All dishes came with these fried potatoes…one word: ruthless! The pool of oil are like 1 cm deep and the garlic butter cream is so sticky, fat and greasy. Nightmare~

Getting rid of old entries time again. Everyone tells me how awesome this pizza place at Abbot Kinney is (Best in LA by Zagat). Never a fan of pizza, I find them pretty good~ ^_^. $6 for 2 slices. The pic on the right is not mine. The crusts is thin and very nice. Unfortunately I made a wasted choice: got 2 similar spinach/mushroom ones that looked alike and subtle taste. The left one is Wild Mushroom Pizza, which Adam highly recommended. It has 4 different types of mushroom with olive pesto suace. I ended up liking the right one more (forgot what it is). I should have tried their famous Popeye chicken. Inside they only have stool seats :(.

Morongo (Cabazon)
//// By Joan in 18: Greater LA![]()
On Sat I went to Morongo, a new casino+resort+spa at Cabazon’s Indian reservation area that’s about 1-1/2 hour drive away from my house. It’s definitely a closer fix for Las Vegas since it promised to offer Vegas-like quality hotels and casinos, unlike most other cheap crappy Indian reservation’s casinos. After being stuck in traffic due to a severe car accident on the freeway, the four of us (Me, Yan and two other freelancers) arrived Cabazon at around 4:00 pm. We shopped at the outlet mall near the casino for about 2 hours ^o^ (lots of great deals! Especially the Barney’s New York outlet and Cosmetic Company where I got these sold-in-Asia-only Estee Lauder skincare products for much cheaper price). We arrived the casino at around 7, the parking area is really huge that we had to take shuttle bus to get to the hotel.

Sante La Brea (La Brea)

Better publish week-old entry before moving on. We took a long lunch break with a big group of colleagues last Monday. A vegan picked Sante La Brea, a trendy place offers wide range of healthy and vegan dishes. There are so many items on the menu that it was kind of hard to choose what to get. The place has strange purple lighting too, so the pictures is vibrant colorful looking. Greek Salad (mine, so-so) and Blackened Salmon wrap (Preston’s, said it’s pretty good).

A vegetarian entree Chx stir-fry vegetables (Jason’s, he seems to enjoy it?). Chx Fajita, a chicken wrap (Greg’s, who said it’s pretty delicious)
