Jin Patisserie (Abbot Kinney)

//// By in 15: Venice

Jin Patisserie Pastry Boutique & Tea Garden is a MUST go! >O< One of the very few (if not the only) high quality French pastry cake & afternoon tea house in LA, there are varities of cakes and tea all with fancy names to choose from. The food is served at outdoor-only seatings in the cozy Asian-ish courtyard, there are even big round mattress where you can lay down on while you’re eat and drink. After a tiring walk and shopping spree on Abbot Kinney, this is the perfect place to rest and enjoy delicious, delicate gourmet cakes!

Green Vanilla Tea $5.95 (large pot). Combination of green tea with Bourbon Vanilla and tiny pieces of island vanilla pods. Smell very nice! All the cakes seems really yummy so it was a difficult decision to narrow down to 3 :P! $5.25 each. There’re similar looking cakes in Chinese pastry places like Vanille, but I’m telling you, the qualities are miles apart!

Joe’s (Abbot Kinney)

//// By in 15: Venice

DSC02412.jpgDSC02392.jpg
Brunch at Joe’s~ a California French fusion place. The menu seems innovative, though we ought to dine there for their courses to really truly experience it. For brunch it came with these good banana bread and toast. The waiter who served us was so charming and handsome…*o*

Braised Duck salad with pear. $12 Comes with potato garlic soup. Very yummy!

DSC02401.jpg
DSC02409.jpgRosti Potato with scrambled eggs, smoke salmon, creme fraiche and paddlefish caviar $14. It also comes with a small salad. The rosti potato is a bit burnt and oily, it got quite heavy at the end. Anyway we’re very satisfied, can’t wait to try their dinner.

San Sui Tei 山水亭 (Temple City)

//// By in 01: San Gabriel

DSC02447.jpgDSC02442.jpgDSC02449.jpgQuick dinner at local Japansee ramen place 山水亭 nearby my house. Takoyaki, good! Hiyashi Miso, a bit too salty and spicy. Need to keep drinking water for the rest of the night. Nagasaki Ramen, supposedly’s San Sui Tei’s most popular item. It’s really just mixed ramen with veggie, canned mushroom and fake crab. The soup is addictive though. $21 tax and tips included. I’ve been among one of their first customer since it opened about ten years ago, it’s a local hidden treasure.

Bistro du Soleil (Playa del Rey)

//// By in 14: Marina del Rey

DSC02386.jpgDeadline’s finally here~ Busy times made me appreciate the French bistro next door more. This is today’s special: Salmon Cakes $10 Surprisingly good! The salmon are very moist and flavored that the sauce wasn’t really needed.

DSC02352.jpgThis is from weeks ago. Ham and Cheese Quiche $6. Basic but rather good, I’m pleasantly surprise! Very cheesy, smells GREAT~ It’ll be even better if they added onion or spinach in it.

DSC02378.jpgMy new favorite snack (for lunch ^^)! Baked Honey Almond Brie with Apple + Strawberry $7 Melted honey and brie goes very well together. The almonds are very nice touch. I can totally make this at home.
