KC’s Crepes Cafe (Playa del Rey)

//// By in 14: Marina del Rey

DSC02148.jpgDSC02150.jpgStarted to branch out the other way. Recommended by Yan, this tiny crepe cafe is just 4 minutes drive from our office. It’s located inside the smallest mini-mall ever. Even though It’s opened by Japanese, their drinks feature the very Taiwanese ‘boba’. Green Tea Latte $3.75

DSC02151.jpgDSC02152.jpgTuna Melt and Spinach and Mushroom $6 each. Both very good. The dessert crepe is Nutella with Custard and Strawberry. $5.5 This place is really nice~ A wonderful new lunch place to go back again and again, awesome!

Cafe Pierre (Manhattan Beach)

DSC02135.jpgDSC02139.jpgDSC02136.jpgMoroccan Beef Tagine $12.95 With fennel, apples, almonds, raisins & tomatoes served over couscous. Tagine is a Moroccan style stew cooked in a chimney shape pot. It tasted like any other stew to me. ^^; The meat is soft and moise and they have very dense aromatic flavor yet not ‘strong’ tasting enough for my taste ^^;;;; Red Yam Flan $7 I never had this before, Very YUMMY! \^o^/ I picked the dessert from the display tray and I didn’t know they’re so pricey…

Marston (Pasadena)

DSC00544.jpgDSC00549.jpgMacadamia Nut Pancakes $ 8.95, Blueberry Pancakes $ 6.95. Finally tried the much-hyped (^_-) Pancakes from Martson. They’re a little different from what I expected because from Tina’s descriptions, I imagined them to be real thin like crepe with real blueberries in between ^^;;;; Despite that, they’re indeed yummy even they are just regular pancakes. The pancakes are soft and light, though the Blueberry one is a bit burnt.

DSC00548.jpgDSC00551.jpgFantastic French Toast $7.95 Yummy, a bit greasy though. Chicken cilantro sausage $4.25 Delicious!

Ocean View Cafe (Manhattan Beach)

//// By in 17: South Bay

DSC02120.jpgDiscover this really nice cafe at Manhattan Beach. It’s a surprise because it looked so tiny and deli-like. It has a better view than Uncle Bill (unfortunately the weather sucks). It’s Italian/Mediterranean but *gasp* it taste unique! Seems to be a beloved local hang out place too. The couple next to us just had a baby a week ago and already bringing her to meet the boss (and tell us about it).

DSC02123.jpg DSC02124.jpg Mediterranean Sampler: $7.95 Hummus, Tabouli, Herb Pizza, Mixed Greens, Pita, Pepperoncini and Olives. Herb Pizza Sandwich $7.95 stuffed with chicken breast, sundried tomatoes, feta, tomatoes, and fresh herbs. The sandwich is better~
