Seoul Garden Restaurant (Koreatown)

By in 07: Mid-Wilshire

My friends and I had an unplanned “eat around Koreatown” day. We tried this Korean Shabu Shabu place for lunch. It didn’t have much side dishes compare to the usual BBQ places.

First we put vegetables and konjac into the broth. The broth is very light and healthy tasting.

A huge serving of thin sliced beef.

The waitress got a bit impatient at us for cooking too slow and dipped the 1/3 remaining beef for us. After we finished the beef, they brought us egg, udon, rice, seaweed and sauce to make porridge.

At the end we were served a lightly sweet rice tea drink that’s very pleasant. I couldn’t believe how much meat I’ve consumed yet this meal felt light and healthy.

    The wooden sign under the trees looks nice. Though the staff seems…rude to rush you like that?

    The waitress worried we left the raw beef sit out there for too long, so she was actually more like a nagging mom than being rude. ^^;;
