Madam Matisse (Silver Lake)

By in 05: Silver Lake + Echo Park

A neighborhood French corner cafe at Silver Lake! The hilly street side parking is ever hard for people not living around there. DANGER WARNING: there’s a little downhill slant at the door way that’s easily missed. So many people tripped. The place is such a little corner that they won’t let us sit down unless the entire party arrived. We had dinner with 2 friends and waited for a long time.

Saffron poached pear salad, yum! Traditional French flair…nothing special but good quality.

Steamed mussels (in white wine, garlic, herbs and lemon cream sauce), VERY good!

Others’ plates: salmon and pork~

    What? They made you wait outside the restaurant?
    The food looks good~~especially the salmon, such a big piece. The baguette has berries inside?

  2. Joan says:

    It’s olives inside 😀
    I think it’s nerve wrecking to wait outside when you’re just inches away from the tables and you see people kept chatting and laughing when they’ve already paid the bills, hogging the table ^^;;;
