Wild Mushroom Ravioli with Jalapeño
DSC04168.jpgI took Joan back to this Italian cafe Fritto Misto at Santa Monica (see previous entry) and still wow by the unusual flavor and how delicious they taste. I got the same Wild Mushroom Ravioli but with Garlic sauce instead. Joan’s Jalapeño sauce is way better, it has salsa in the middle and has a wonderful kick from the jalapeño spice. Hers are cooked more al dente too. Their vegetarian pasta menu looks more tempting than the regular ones actually. Next time I’d try that Sweet Potato ravioli.

Metro Cafe (Culver City)

DSCN0572.jpgUnlike Freda I don’t eat at the west side that often. It’s my turn to try the Serbian restaurant Metro Cafe which Freda blogged before. Jon got the not-so-Serbian burger. Delicious! I’ve heard wonderful things about their breakfast so I got the Serbian breakfast. The Serbian cured meat is very good. It is similar to a prosciutto but with lots of paprika. It also comes with a choice of English muffin and very fresh mozzarella.

Bruno’s (Santa Monica)

//// By in 16: Santa Monica

DSC04088.JPGMy co-worker took us to this hole-in-the-wall Italian place . It’s her most favorite neighborhood restaurant that she almost regretted introducing me here after finding out I’d be blogging it. ;D The vibe is warm and hearty, and the servings are huge!

Carbonara. Very good~ Perfectly mixed eggs and cream, very rich but not overtly heavy and cakery.

DSC04095.jpgDSC04100.jpg
The wonderful Cesar Salad is authentic classic style with egg yolk dressing (hence a slimey quality that I absolutely LOVE). Perfectly salted and peppered. I forgot the name of this spaghetti (too occupied with the Carbonara).

I’m impressed by the salad as much as the pasta. Garden Salad is delicious~ The photo on the right …I also forgot its name, a huge stuffed pocket Lasagne type with cheese. So-so.

3 Squares Cafe + Bakery (Abbot Kinney)

//// By in 15: Venice

Back to the Cal-German cafe 3 Squares on Abbot Kinney since my last entry. I always stuffed myself too much that I have yet to try their desserts (that sound good!)

I thought I’d order ‘light’, a salad perhaps: Beef skewer salad with Shitake Mushroom. Very delicious sauce and the beef is pretty well marinated. However it’s not ‘light’ at all.

A sandwich sampler my co-worker ordered. Seems very delectable.
