Caribe Shrimp served over fresh Linguine, the shrimps are so incredibly fresh, crispy and sweet. So sweet that every bite of the linguine has fresh ocean sweetness. This is amazing!

Cube at Divine Pasta Co. (La Brea)
//// By Freda in 09: WehoAmelia’s Panini & Espresso (Main St.)
//// By Freda in 16: Santa Monica, Favorite Food EntriesMy friend recommended this Panini place on Main, I always passed by it but thought it was part of the Motel next door (it’s not, but you can park there). This cafe is run by a team of husband and wife and I was told that they only make a certain amount of sandwiches, once they’re sold out it’s all gone.

Grilled Salami with roasted peppers

Very good! 😀 The la brea bread is perfectly grilled. The layers of smooth, chewy and tasty good quality ham. Add on the the sweet juice of the roasted peppers, and the cheese. Too bad I ate way too slow, by the end the pesto sauce sogged the bread. They have two other kinds of sandwiches: roasted turkey and beef.
The coffee is very good too! They also sell cheese and yummy looking desserts and bakery. Finally, found a REAL good place on Main st.!

La Bottega Marino (Larchmont)

//// By Freda in 15: VeniceA bit slow lately (still recovering from the big party dinner last month).
I met with a friend working at the Venice Beach, I always spot this Brickhouse when driving on Abbot Kinney, and it is called “Brickhouse” ^^;;

The walls are decorated with Bruce Lee film stills. Egg Benedict: Not special tasting but hearty with fresh ingredients. Their Egg Florentine has a ‘famous’ title on the menu…hmm?

Miceli’s (Universal city)
//// By Joan in 08: Hollywood![]()
Sorry for the lack of update, Freda and I didn’t have the chance to try new restaurants recently (is that even possible? ^^;;). This is an old entry I forgot to put up, a large party of my collegues and I had a wrap party at Miceli’s, a famous family-owned Italian restaurant in Universal City (the original branch in Hollywood open since 1949 ). The kitschy Italian villa paintings on the exterior and interior walls are quite charming.
Linguini Pescatore (clams, mussels, calamari, Scallops, shrimp & fish). Big portion and lots of ingredients. However, while the broth is on the tasty side it’s not that exceptional nor memorable.

Mozzarella Marinara and Fired Calamrai. There were at least 12 of us and the pictures of other people’s dishes failed somehow ^^;;; (need a better camera). Well, most of them are just normal looking pasta anyways. The baked dishes seem really good though. Other’s impressive on their food range from excellent to ok.
