A friend had not have dinner for two nights so he craved big heavy juicy burgers. We got the Chiliburger with curly fries and the Famous Melburger. I asked for medium rare but the beef was too well done. 🙁 It’s still good, juicy and big, though overall the taste is a bit generic. The fries are so-so too. Pie n’ Burger‘s burger are still better. For a retro-style 50s diner, the interior is quite ugly. ^^;;

BBQ beef lunch special. Over priced Thai restaurant that’s walking distance from my office. I was hungry after a long meeting so I don’t have much option when I craved Asian food. At least it tasted good, you can’t go too wrong with Thai food anyways. The beef is tender and the sacue is good, but the rice is too mushy for my taste. For thai food, it’s still best to go to Thai Town.

Had to grab a quick eat before the movie, so we went to the nearby eatery gr/eats. An off-shoot from the Giant Robot store, you know that you can’t expect much of the food. Their menu are mostly Japanese stuffs but they also have burger, Pasta, tacos, meatballs…^^;; Johnathan got the Chicken Katsu Don and I got the Paella (el salvadoran-style). Both are very so-so (as expected). The rice are so mushy, that’s totally wrong for Paella. And it’s a bit too light tasting. And I have no clue what the purple stuffs are…some sort of pickles? ^^;;

When we went to this neighborhood restaurant at Silver Lake, the entire street corner was blocked off with filming crew and actors and equipments. A large crane was moving up and down the entire time outside, it got so close sometimes that I kept expecting it to crash thru the windows.

Soy Grilled Flank Steak with Wasabi Mashed Potato, VERY good! Juicy, tender and tasty. The wasabi mashed is very…heavily wasabi-ed, gotta eat carefully. ^^b Belgian Beef Stew, good but not special.
The cornbread (each person get one) are incredible! Joan said she has been here before and the burger and seafood stew weren’t so good. A look at their specials and menu tells me that they’re better at steak. Good comfort food, but sadly no alcohol. The cork fees (even for beer) is $3.
