エスカルゴ、700円。フォアグラと牛肉のパイ包み、1500円。
Escargot. Absolutely delicious and they were 6 of them and only 700yen! So cheap!! I think I dipped every drop of the sauce with the baguette...which was also very good that I almost asked the waitor where they got the baguette from. Baked pie with foie gras and beef. The foie gras and the beef were actually separate inside the pie, which was a bit odd I thought(^^;;;), but the pie was light and crispy.

ラム肉の煮込み、1300円。エビのフリッター、アイオリソース、1300円。
Lamb stew. Prawn fritter. The lamb was soft but not stewed long enough. The prawn fritter was too oily, that we both ended up peeling the thick batter and just eating the prawn inside, which was a bit overcooked and hard. ^^;;
Two people shared all the food, one drink each, it was about 3000yen each, very very cheap! Honestly, the food is not like fantastic, the place is small, the stools quite uncomfortable, one person was cooking everything so we had to wait forever for each dish to come(the whole dinner, without dessert and coffee, took 3 hours, most of the time waiting...), but it is so cheap and okay standard and huge portions and the waitor is friendly....actually I don't mind going back again. ^^;;;

蟹御膳、1000円。 Everything has crab in it. The crab chawanmushi would be nicer if it was hotter. Like the crab cream croquette the best.

とろ蕎麦(いなか蕎麦)、大盛1500円。Came here before and was very impressed. I ordered the same inaka soba, but in large portion and version-up with tororo. Heaven!!

夢境そば(エビ、京湯葉、京風がんもどき、玉子焼き、青菜、筍)、1550円。
Thought it was Kyoto-style soba and expected very mild and subtle tasting but the soup turned out to be very strong and salty. Still very nice with so many ingredients though.

煮魚(金目鯛)定食、1000円。Fish cooked in sweet soy sauce, a bit too sweet but still nice. Comes with barley rice and tororo. This place is apparently run by a hotel in Izu. I have been to Izu before for the hotspring hotels with a seaview, though didn't stay in this one. From pamphlet the hotel looks nice~.

イベリコ豚丼、980円。Iberico pork rice bowl. The grilled pork and the ratatouille are both good, though without any sauce it is hard to finish all the rice.

松花堂:おぼろ豆腐と湯葉、大根料理、お造り、玉子料理(温泉玉子)、魚料理(マグロホホ肉の唐揚げ南蛮風)、肉料理(地鶏オープン焼き木の子カレークリームソース)、炊き込みご飯(竹の子御飯)、汁椀、デザート、1500円。
An amazing bento, from left to right, top to bottom: tofu, sashimi, raddish with miso, hotspring egg, grilled chicken in mushroom curry cream sauce, fried tuna with vinegar and spring onion, comes with bamboo shoot rice and miso soup on the side. I saw other people ordering the cheaper lunch set with either fish or meat, and they are the same stuff as the fried fish and grilled chicken included in the bento but of course in bigger portion. Everything tasted great. Even the dessert, bavarois that tasted of toffee, was very very good!

合鴨彩り丼、980円。Duck rice bowl. It came out like 5 minutes after I ordered, the duck was of course cold, but most of the restaurants in this office area are closed on Sunday so I was just glad to have somewhere to have a quick lunch at and no need to resort to fastfood. ^^;;

野菜とパンチェッタのリングィネ、1200円。Linguine with vegetables and pancetta. The place I wanted to go was closed on Sat and this place was just next door and opened for lunch, so even though I had come here before and didn't like it, I just went in anyway. I made a mistake of ordering something very similar to the one I had before! Damn, I actually wanted tomato sauce. But luckily this time round, the amount of ingredients was more generous and it actually tasted alright.

I bought the top two in an event at Seibu and oh my they don't just look pretty but taste amazing! I went back on the next day and bought more, still very good, and went AGAIN on the following day to buy the last two.

かぼちゃグラタン、750円。Pumpkin gratin, it is okay. It looks like a bar but opens all day. It was daytime outside but so dark inside with dim spotlights, and the predominantly male customers were all smoking and drinking coffee and quietly reading, while the cook kept chattering with the two young waitresses...such a weird atmosphere. ^^;; I could see the kitchen from my seat and I saw the cook puting a raw egg on the plate and then into the microwave, which later went to the top of some curry fried rice, which was a customer's lunch A. ^^;;

参鶏湯、780円。In a town full of ojisan-oriented eating places, this shop has very feminine interior, the customers were all girls, and it seems to be popular cos people kept coming in even though the last order for lunch was over. I was expecting it to taste good....but I was so disappointed...the soup was too diluted and completely tasteless, the chicken piece on the spoon was the ONLY piece, also very tasteless...hmm...

オムライス ビーフキノコソース、800円。Omelette rice with beef and mushroom sauce. The name doesn't say anything about the hamburger, the croquette and the fried chicken with the pile of mayonnaise....^^;; Maybe because all the side things were already cold and not freshly made, and because of the overall saltiness, I felt like I was eating a super huge convenience store lunch box. ^^;; The omelette rice and the sauce were hot though, and it IS very good value.

もやしそば(辛)、700円。It is very good!! I like the soup very much. I went when it was not so busy as usual, and four separate customers came and they were all talking to the master and the madam like they were good old friends. One guy was tallking about manga...(^^;;) Also two guys wearing chef clothes came in, chatted a bit, and took two bowls of ramen to go...wow.

豚の角煮、500円。カオ・ドム・マッ(ココナッツ風味のもち米と小豆をバナナの葉っぱで包んで蒸しあげた。中にはバナナが入ってる)、530円。The name of the pork appetizer is misleading cos it is just plain boiled pork with some chilli sauce on top and salad at the bottom, no good. But the dessert is so nice!!!!! It is coconut sticky rice with red bean, banana stuffing. For some reason one has stronger coconut taste, while the other has stronger banana taste...wonder if it is deliberate but both taste very good.

霜降りスライスステーキ&ハンバーグ、セットで1050円。Steak and hamburger set. The steak is quite good but the hamburger is so-so. The cook and the waitress were both chatting in Thai...this is a steak house though. ^^;;

肉玉いか天ソバ、950円。A very popular place specialised in hiroshima-style okonomiyaki, which has ingredients like cabbage and noodles added. I wanted to try this place long time ago but it doesn't do lunch during weekdays, and dinner time has long queues apparently. Tried my lunch on a rainy and cold weekend afternoon, late around 2pm....and yup, it was quite empty! I had the most popular pork and squid and noodles one...it was very good! The first half I had it alone and the second half I added mayonnaise, cos I was afraid I would get tired of the same strong sauce taste....but it is too yummy to get tired! Though it would have been better if a few people went and shared different things~~

オムライス、900円。Somehow I always order omelette rice whenever I go to yoshoku place...very good though! Miso soup and salad are included for lunch. The place is clean and modern, the menu is quite female oriented - not too heavy and lots of veggy.

Went with a friend and ordered 2 appetizers, 2 pasta and 2 meat dishes to share. The waitor was kind enough to divide everything into half for us, so the pictures are all half portion.
Appetizers are foie gras pate, and roasted quail stuffed with multi-grain risotto and cheese. Both are very good, especially the quail.

Charcoal grilled pork. Roasted lamb in onion, anchovy and vinegar sauce. Wow the meat dishes are amazing!! Simply good quality meat grilled to perfection and I don't need anything else! The charcoal grilled pork smells and tastes heaven with only salt. The lamb is tender and the sauce nicely savoury. The potatoes and onions on the side are lovely too.
The interior of the restaurant was not exactly that pretty and the lighting was just gloomy but not atmospheric. When we went, it was very empty, no music was playing, the many waitors with kinda stiff posture were standing nearby, dead quiet, the kitchen was just right next to us, also produced very little sound....frankly the atmosphere was terrible...^^;; At first when I took out the camera, the waitor told me not to use flash, I was not going to use anyway....But after I took pictures of each dish, he brought the lamb to me before cutting it into half so that I could take pictures first, probably because he thought it would look better as a whole, so maybe they didn't mind the pictures but were afraid that the flashlight might bother other customers. My friend who doesn't understand Japanese took a picture of me sucking the bones with the flash though...^^;; The portion was so huge that my friend couldn't finish the lamb, I was quite full but was going to eat it for her, but the waitor came up and said he would wrap it up for us to take-away. I have never been to an upscale restaurant that does that...I think if there were more customers, the atmosphere would have been more lively and the experience more enjoyable. And just order the appetizers and the meat dishes would be satisfying enough, the pasta can be skipped. ^^;;

I have been to this place before and it was very good. This time I was planning to have the cheaper lunch course but the options for the main course were all beef and I had beef last time....ended up choosing the 5250yen lunch course again so that I could have the lamb for my main dish.
Octopus and couscous, a thin slice of fried potato on top(had the potato slice last time too!).

Appetizer is seafood consomme jelly with hotspring egg. The seafood are very fresh and sweet, even has sea urchin! But later I realised I had the similar appetizer last time....^^;;
Fish dish is sole, with butter sauce. The surface is lightly fried and golden crispy, very good.

Roasted lamb chop! Can remember the sauce's name...vegetable bits and herb. This is the main dish I was desperate to have! The lamb is rare but amazingly soft and tender and has the right amount of fat - heaven!
The little dessert, I later realised, again, is the same vegetable bavarois I had the last time!
The eat-as-much-as-you-like wagon desserts! I had "a bit of everything" as usual.
Somehow the menu has not changed much in general since I came last time. Every dish is very delicious but it is true the second time is not as impressive as the first.

This area was not as crowded during holidays so I just went into this pasta place for a quick lunch(1380yen for a holiday lunch set)...the pasta was inhumanly salty...gosh what's going on? (-o-;;;;) Thing with other kind of food is that, even if it is no good you still eat it for the nutrition, but for pasta which is plain carbo, you just don't want to eat it if it is bad. I wish I knew why I would go to every pasta place I come across even though I seldom encounter good ones...haha...^^;;

It was Golden Week holiday this week and sadly I needed to work, and to make things more miserable, every eating place that was opened, was so crowded with people, including places that are usually very empty! I resorted to fastfood for a while, got sick of it, and went into this place for late dinner on my way home. Didn't expect anything great but...the bolognese sauce was so diluted with practically no meat in it, and the salad, the dessert, even the coffee were.....and the set costed 1890yen. Ended up buying a burger anyway...

黒豚のリエット、豚モモスライスのグリル 生姜風味のソース、ガトーショコラ。Pork rillettes, grilled pork with ginger sauce, gateau chocolat. Lunch course is 2500yen. My second visit here, first time I had sandwich which was very yummy so I wanted to try their full course lunch. The quality turned out to be choice-dependent. I went with a friend and two of us ordered different appetizers, main dishes and desserts to share. The line-up in the pictures were all quite good, but the marinated vegetables, roasted chicken stuffed with prawn and orange tart were just so-so.

Yellowtail and cabbage carpaccio was very good - the fish smelled very fishy but everyone in the table had no problem. The fish course was good, but soybean and tomato stew reminds me too much of the canned tomato beans that I had eaten too much with toasts in the past...

デザート:牛乳のシャーベットとバニラのアイス、いちごタルト、黒蜜のプリン。
Pork that was fed with soybean apparently. The only difference I can tell is the lack of fat...^^;; Very good though. Dessert is milk sorbet, vanilla ice-cream, strawberry tart and black honey pudding, hmm it is alright. Full course lunch is 4500yen. Consensus was, overall very good, but considering it is far, it is not cheap.

Probably my most frequently visited chinese restaurant in Tokyo...being nearby is one of the reason, but the standard is very high. Not cheap, though proper chinese restaurants are expensive in Tokyo anyway. Strange thing is it doesn't seem to be that popular, always no customers....We ordered a lot more dishes but I got lazy and didn't take pictures, well my friend I went with took all the pictures with much better skills so... ^^;;;
