Joe’s Restaurant (Abbot Kinney)

//// By in 15: Venice

An almost forgotten entry, because I blogged about Joe’s too much (1, 2, 3), I can’t get enough of their Prix Fixe business 3 courses lunch set. I reserved a table of 2 to meet with my friend. Turns out a group of 10 co-workers followed her when she tried to sneak out (I know many of them too). ^^;;;

My friend went for their regular menu: Porcini Crusted Salmon, Pancetta Gnocchi, Mushrooms Puree, Yellow Wax Bean. I’m no fan of Gnocchi but that is so good~
DSC01658.jpgI still got the set (same 1st course as before so I won’t include the photo again). My entree was Scallop , also has the delicious Mushroom Puree. Despite there were only 4 small pieces of scallops, I was full~

The Lemon Tart is part of my Prix Fixe Menu, it was too sour! My friend got the Chocolate Mousse, much better!

To continue: the waitress asked if the two of us want to sit with the group ^^;; but we rather hide in our little corner. Surprisingly, the restaurant has a big enough table to accommodate the group so they were sat too.

Cube at Divine Pasta Co. (La Brea)

Girls’ Night Out! Back to Cube to try their dinner. We brought our own wine (no corkage fee).

The sampler of the night.

DSC01770.jpgA very tasty Squash Soup. We tried their Cheese & Charcuterie Plate, chosen from a dazzling long, multi-pages list. The two meat selections was Proscuitto Langhiriani (so delicious) and the incrediblepaper thin Nostrauo Salumi. Love both! The three cheese we chose were all very different in hardness and flavor, something for everyone. Chocolate Mousse: Light, just the right bitterness and not so sweet, very good~ Oh I can see myself coming here again and again, to try all the cheese & meat.

Pazzo Gelato (Silver lake)

Season is changing and the weather is getting cold, but that hasn’t stop me from craving gelato yet. Back to Pazzo Gelato. Lemon Mint + Espresso Bar and Chocolate Malt + Kyoho grape. All flavors are top notch fantastic. I especially love the Kyoho grape one since I haven’t try or even seen grape gelato or ice-cream much. You can just taste that they’re made from fresh fruits. Now I just wish the weather won’t cool down too cold too soon.

Cake House Galleria (Sawtelle)

//// By in 12: Sawtelle

DSC01791.jpg
A new bakery opened at the corner of Sawtelle & Olympic plaza, replacing the old charming Japanese Bakery (with delicious cakes and wood craft food miniature buttons on chalk board) that was sadly close. The new bakery is actually the new branch of Cake House Galleria of Koreatown. The interior was all white minimal (with little personality), but their Macaron was so GOOD! Unfortunately the Black Sesame one was crushed by my bag, it’s my favorite one. The texture is so right on, so addictive!
