Cafe Gitane (NYC: Nolita)

This popular and always crowded place downstairs Cafe Gitane is said be in the neighborhood forever. I had to sit on the bar table hence very uncomfortable (I should have just get to-go and eat back up at the apt.). Baked pasta, roasted tomato, gorgonzola and Breadcrumbs, gosh very fattening but very good! Hot Chocolate, I photographed it upside down, there’re choco powder dog foot print on top correspond with the chocolate packaging, so cute! Taste light and airy~

Staying @ Manhattan

//// By in Travel

DSC08461.jpgDSC08464.jpg
DSC08465.jpgSo like I said I’ve moved to an apt. inside Manhattan few days ago and it’s at the wonderful Nolita location. Right downstairs are all my favorite shops I Heart and an Italian hat shop and The Kitchen Club + Chibi’s bar. Around the corner is a drop-off laundry. The downside? The size is your average Manhattan apt ^^;; I like it though~ Especially with a giant TV hehe…

Balducci (NYC: West Village)

When I was still staying in Jersey City I worried about where to get (good) dinner (there’s nothing in Jersey City). I found on my train home I’d stop by this Gourmet Market Balducci. It’s newly opened last month and the Roman pillar former bank building is spectacular. I got this tasty Cream of Tomato Soup though the taste get a bit too strong midway ^^:;; NY has two other Gourmet retail chains Gourmet Garage and Whole Food. Balducci tried to position themselves differently by gearing more toward selling ingredients for cooks (not just can’t-cook-shit ppl like me who just buy take out). What bliss to not see the likes of regular supermarket Ralphs and Albertson here).

Kitchen 22 (NYC: Gramercy/Flatiron)

It’s only paid by boss that I’d ever dine at fancy restaurants with style and ambience. We have dinner+team meeting at Kitchen 22.
We opened as much bottles we wanted. While it’s certainly casual and has a $25 prix-fixe 3 course menu where you choose from 5 different dishes for appertizer and main course, it’s just not my ‘scene’. Love the giant lamps.
DSCN2613.jpgDSCN2622.jpg
Mine, 1: Margarita Salmon Graviax (too citrusy with citrus and lime vinaigrette) and special of the night 2: Lamp Shanks, so good and big!
DSCN2610.jpgDSCN2621.jpg
1: Roasted Beef Carpaccio and 2. Tamarind Glazed Pollock.

DSCN2615.jpgDSCN2619.jpg
1: Iceberg Wedge and 2: Roasted Chicken

DSCN2624.jpgThere’s only one house dessert and it’s these heavy peanut buttery pecan pie…errr.. The waitress is very attentive and friendly, very good service. But because of this fixed ‘choose from 5’ menu it’s a bit too predictable to worth going back for.

Sevilla (NYC: West Village)

White Sangria and Seafood Paella.
DSC08438.jpgBack to the west side…it was pouring but we still insist finding a unique restaurant for Joan’s last dinner at NY. By this point we were sick of seeing too much French and Italian, so this Spanish place Sevilla seems tempting. Turns out it is brilliant and authetic, it’s an old timer since 40s and I’m finally content that I finally have a really really good Paella~~ Delicious!
