Plum Wine on the rock (so much ice, such a cheat) and straight (much better).
We found this new Japanese pub right next to Le Saigon. Very nice~ Especially the yakitori. They also have Oyster shooter, but they were sold out. Though later we found out Wednesday night is Ladies Night with drinks all half off. I want to try everything.

So after cheap greasy Chinese food, we met up with Vero and Tina for some wine and dessert. I must have not been to Pasadena for a long while because I got so confused at finding this place (which I’ve been to few times before)! For some reason I drove all the way to Rialto theatre and was expecting a mexican or cuban restaurant ^^;; We share a bottle of white wine and 3 desserts. Crema al Doppio Gusto: Fennel infused custard with chocolate mousse and caramelized sugar topping. I think it was my favorite out of the three. The others are Zabaione alla Gritti: Chilled zabaione with fresh berries, Bellini sorbet, fresh whipped cream and amarena cherry. Crespelle con Vaniglia: Crepes filled with apples and grappa pastry cream; vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce.

Had to grab a quick dinner before meeting up with friends so we tried to go back to the unforgettably yummy and cheap Jin Jian for their Crab Meat Soup Dumplings. Unfortunately it was packed with their typical long waiting queue , so we refugeed next door to this Northern Chinese restaurant instead (also a long-timer). We shared the Braised Beef Noodle (the beef not tender enough but the broth was very good, the pickles that go along with it makes it extra good), pot Sticker (very greasy, we had to dap it with napkin first ^^;; Very tasty though) and Soup Dumpling (basic type, it’s good but Jin Jian’s Crab ones are still better). Overall good and very value, $14 for two people!

Went to the ever-crowded Cuban Bakery Porto’s to try their sandwiches for lunch over the weekend. Cuban pork sandwich, the roasted pork with garlic sauce is so juicy and melt in your mouth. So unforgettable! Potato Ball Sandwich, it’s ok. Afterall starch/starch isn’t a good combo. Should have stick with meat ones. The sandwiches are so cheap (under $4) and good, I wish such value and quality is avaible near workplace! There’re many dim sum-like meat pastries, we got this one to try, it reminds me of Dim sum’s “curry corner” ^^;; The leftest pix shows the long queue for ordering food. The middle pix is the bread area, it’s super crowded in the morning.

Of course we got some cakes to-go to bring back home. From left to right: Mango, Coconut, Strawberry, Cappacino. All very good, the mousse are fresh tasting, not too sweet nor sour.
