La Brea Bakery (Beverly Blvd)

//// By in 09: Weho

DSC01058.jpgOur Boss brought this bread to office once or twice every week from La Brea Bakery. It is dark chocolate bread with cherry and chocolate chips. It is not sweet nor sticky, just the right rich taste, so good! I look forward to eat this every week. 😀

Spoon House (Gardena)

//// By in 17: South Bay, Favorite Food Entries

DSC01078.jpgDSC01064.jpgRecommended by Yan, we tried this Japanese spaghetti house called Spoon House on saturday. It is SO good! I’ll never ever eat Japanese spaghetti at other places again. 😀 The kitchen is open with table surrounding it, we got the best seats that enable us full view of how they cook. This place is packed. There’s still waiting lines even it’s 2:00 already.

Ok more old pictures. ^^;;

DSC00391.jpgDSC00397.jpgPanini with Proscuitto and Mozzarella, very good! Well it’s something you can’t really go wrong, but I really expected them to…

DSC00394.jpgDSC00398.jpgThe Olive pate that came with the bread is really good! And there’s aftermeal dessert (free), almond cookies…they taste so good! I’m impressed!

Caffe Opera and Bistro (Monrovia)

//// By in 02: Pasadena

DSC00679.jpgClearing old pictures again. This is from last month when we went to Old Town Monrovia for movies and shopping. There are many restaurants (such as Devon from past entry) but most only open at night. We just ventured inside Caffe Opera and Bistro because it looked nice and the name sounded good…though the interior/graphic designs seemed a little slick (I have a little biased toward slick-looking design restaurant as they tend to be expensive all-looks-but-empty-inside that are more about ambience and ‘hang-out’, not really about the food)…turns out my biased is quite valid this time 🙁

Wonton Time (Alhambra)

//// By in 01: San Gabriel, Favorite Food Entries

DSC00214.jpg

My food-snob uncle recommended it so it should be good. Turns out it IS really good, best in LA I swear! They only sell wonton, fish ball and beef noodle (or combinations of them). The wonton and fish ball are so huge and homemade looking, they taste really juicy and chewy (there are dried orange peel in the fish ball, very good flavor). Soup is good too.
