Porta Via (Beverly Hills)

DSC08932.jpgRandomly went into this bistro for brunch after we found out the tea leaf shop we intended to go to don’t open on Sunday. Despite its location at Beverly Hills, the place is causal and not overpriced. And the food is fantastic! Poached egg with prosuitto and argula, very delicous. I got the two two two: you choose how you want the two eggs to be cooked, two pancakes (I chose the banana choclate) and two pieces of meat (I chose turkey maple sausage). Everything tasted fresh and very yummy. Love the poster on the wall that’s reflect in the mirror. 😀 Definitely a place to go back to for breakfast, not so sure about their lunch/dinner though.

Jin Patisserie (Abbot Kinney)

I treat myself and had the afternoon tea set from Jin Patisserie (see old entry) for lunch. When I asked if it’s too big for one person the waitress said no ^^;; There’re sandwich, quiche, 2 scones, 2 pound cake, 4 mini-pastries + 1 chocolate + tea.

M Cafe de Chaya (Hollywood)

Back to M Chaya again with co-workers. Lots of people raved about their Club Sandwich so I gave it try even though it’s got fake bacon. It’s good but doesn’t really live up to the hype, i.e. I would rather get something else next time. I forgot what that salad is, my co-worker got the (fake) fried pork rice bowl. I didn’t taste it but doesn’t look that good ^^;;;

Shared by three people: Strawberry moon pie and Chocolate mousee tart, both good. The moon pie (chocolate mousee with chopped strawberries inside) tasted very rich. I think I still like their Chocolate pear mousse cake more.

Cafe Atlantic (Old Town Pasadena)

I had a very very early entry about this long time ago and I can’t get enough of it. Now that I’ve moved I’d visit Pasadena less and this contemporary Cuban cafe Cafe Atlantic would be one that I miss, especially the Cuban fried rice~~ TOT (another entry).
