After dinner, on our kind-of-long way walk back to the train station, the freezing temperature and tired feet brought us to this trendy soy-based cafe Soy Luck Club. We got a Soy steamed milk with Ginger and honey. It’s very very good! All the food on their menu are soy-based, the crepe sound pretty good. Wanna go back and try them.

There were so many interseting non-scene/pretensious restaurants and cafes at the Greenwich area that we had hard time to choose one for dinner ^^;; We settle for this little French bistro that’s “hidden” in a small alley. The inside feel very Parisian. Since the place is called Le Gigot (lamb) so naturally we tried the Roasted Lamb. A little disappointed though, the meat is not as tender and didn’t like the bean side. The Seafood broth which comes with the bread and cheese is good. The broth is delicious, though I’ve had better.

The cold weather and tired feet brought us to this cafe for refreshment (= cake + hot drink ^^;;). Both of the Framboise and Black forest mousse cakes taste really good! Not too sweet, berries flavor tasted fresh and “multi-flavored in a bite”.

We got Hot chocolate and Hot cider to warm up our bodies. The cider is good! There’s another cafe which has cakes across the street. We picked this one because it had more people. It’s the right choice indeed.

There are endless amount of cute cafes and bistro in Greenwich Village that it’s hard to chose one. We found this cute Scandinavian place.

The blue bottles wall!!!!

The sandwiches are all open-faced kind. Foie Gras Mousse & Apples with Gooseberry Preserve, the bread a bit burnt but still nice. The potato salad side is very good.

DSC08296.jpgAnd of of course their specialized Swedish Meatballs with lingonberry preserve is delicious. The blue bottle theme just runs all over of the interior decor. After a rather disappointing day for Joan at Midtown (unmovable with holiday crowd in a tourisy commercial area), I brought her to the old Europe-vibe Greenwich Village filled with cafes and cute boutiques, which totally redeem her impression of NYC.

The Duck Leg Confit is very tender~

The onion soup is pretty normal, not sweet enough. Duck Liver Pate is quite good. The restaurants in this area are the fancy type with “the scene” (bar area packed with successful looking people) and mostly too $$$. We walked around and around to find this casual and down-to-earth looking 24 hour classic French Bistro.
