Landmark The Coit Tower (a close-up) is a mediterrean style white tower on top of Telegraph Hill, built in the 30s. It has a 360 degree observation view of the city up at the top. The view up the hill ain’t that great…so we didn’t go all the way up as there’s a long line. We took bus. When we leave we found a short cut walk down the hill, where tired and panting tourists walking uphill toward us ^^;; It took us straight to the North Beach neighborhood: The Little Italy, a romantic historical area with lots of cafe and restaurant. The gothic Sts. Peter and Paul Church at the Washington Square Park has the address number of 666. There’re lots of events and peace rally at the park.

We stopped by here because of thirst, turns out patron must order a dish. I have Steam Mussels, so good! However the waitress took way too long for our bills, we wasted too much time waiting.

San Fransico Part 3 – Ferry Building Farmer’s Market

This is where Hog Island Oyster locates, a historic Ferry building turned upscale gourmet Farmer’s Market. It is way too spotlessly clean and neat to be a market really, there’re a lot of fresh perfect looking organic vegetable and Wine store. The entire place felt like a plastic toyland with obsessively detailed works. It’s awesome! 😀
This cute pastry candy shop Milette Patisserie has lots of cute and pretty cakes that looked too sponge-cake for me ^^;; The candy flowers in pot are lovely~ I got these Candied Rose Petals, they’re very sugary and the petal taste like…paper…^^;;;

Hog Island Oyster (San Fransico: Ferry Market)

Here’s the biggie: $40 for 24 raw oysters. There’re 5 kinds:
Hog island Sweetwater, Tomale Bay
Hog Island Atlantics, Tomales bay
Beau Soleil, New Brunswick
Pebble Beach, Puget Sound
Gold Creek, Washington
H.E.A.V.E.N! Grace doesn’t eat oysters, so three of us shared that.
Same as the wine from the crepe place, it’s Muscadet. And I gotta mention, their bread is sooooooo good~~~ >o<

The scallop was quite overpriced for 3 pcs. But OH MY the Clam Chowder is simply STUNNING!!! It is unlike the porridage thick kind in usual American places…it is a very delicious thin and creamy soup. I missed this more than the oysters actually…

DSC04975.jpgThe oyster place is located at the Ferry Building Market, so it faces the bay and Oakland bridge. Nice ocean breeze, blue sea, great food…definitely the highlight of our trip! ^O^

Ti-Couz (San Francisco: Mission)

Highly recommended by Adam, claimed to be the best crepe ever. They use buckwheat flour for savory and wheat flour for dessert crepe, all folded in very thin square. The dark colored buckwheat crepe is more crisp and soba-like texture, which I’m not too crazy about. Adam said Mushroom Crepe with Mushroom Sauce is a must, it’s still very good, very fresh. (more sauce would be great). Joan have the Scallop crepe with seafood sauce, it’s stuffed with lots of scallop and the sauce is very delicious too. MY GOD the Dessert crepe is sooooo heavenly!!! *O* It’s a special, it’s got white chocolate, vanilla icecream with chocolate strawberries.

It is the oldest crepe restaurant in SF (and there’re plenty~ including chains. I read that Crepe is very popular in SF). The building is very historical, decorated with photographs of lace hat that ladies in Northwest France wore. The giant urn lamp is awesome~

DSC04943.jpgIt’s located at Mission, the hispanic neighborhood. Very much like Silverlake, this area was invaded by hipsters…but it is still rough and some parts are quite sketchy looking. We took a cab here, when we asked the driver to tell us about this area, he said, “it has lots of drugs!” ^^;; He also repeatedly said “be careful ok?” and wanted us out as fast as we can because he doesn’t want to pick up shady people…o_O;;
