Oriental Pearl (Niagara Fall)

Oops I lied, this entry should conclude the trip. On the final day, yield to my parents craving for Chinese food we settled for this expensive looking Chinese restaurant at the Casino hotel. It’s surprisingly good. It’s very authentic HK, quality rival the good ones in HK. This steamed crab is HEAVENLY delicious~ XO The sauce has so many subtle flavor, so fresh tasting~
DSC04129.jpgDSC04133.jpgDSC04137.jpgDSC04124.jpgThe sauce from the steamed crab is so good that we ate the noodle with that sauce too. The peking duck was alright. The window seats look over the fall too. The business was very quiet that night though, poor~

Botanical Garden & Butterfly Conservatory

//// By in Travel

DSC04079.jpgDSC04081.jpg DSCF0385.jpgThis is the last entry on our trip. Nearby Niagara-on-the-Lake there is a Horiculture school, which has a huge Botanical garden where most sections are opened to public. The garden is so well-kept and beautifully designed. Too bad it was not blossom season yet. They have a elegant rose garden that would have been breathtaking. All the gardeners working you encountered there are students, probably working on their assignments ^^;;

Shaw Cafe and Wine bar (Niagara-on-the-Lake)

Our lunch at Shaw Cafe and Wine Bar is possbilily the best meal in this trip! The interior is so beautiful (see more pix on their website). The dessert is Grand Marnier Mousse, light refreshing orange flavoured white mousse~ The two coffee drinks are: Icewine + Coffee (quite gross especially it’s hot -__-;;) and Amaretto, Bailey + Ice Coffee (very good!).

DSC04089.jpg

Chef’s Pate: Cherry Icewine and orange infuse pate with cranberry jelly, served with sliced baguette and French Cornichon.

DSC04091.jpg

Linguini and Sausage, linguini and maple wood smoked cabanossi sausage in spinach and basil pesto, with cherry tomatoes, kalamata olives, artichokes, herbs and asiago cheese. My father was wow by how good it is.

DSC04093.jpg<

Steamed mussels: Chardonnay steamed P.E.I. mussels with smoked sausage, scallions and roaste garlic in tomato broth. So many jumbo mussels and the broth is sooo heavenly. All delicious~

DSC04098.jpgDSC04086.jpgJust as the name of the cafe suggest, there’s a statue of George Bernard Shaw (the famous Irish playwrites whom represent this theatrical town) at the patio. All items on menu has different wine recommendation. I wanted to try their dinner but we didn’t get to. 🙁 I also peeked at the kitchen, the head chefs and assistances are all young guys~

The Buttery (Niagara-on-the-Lake)

//// By in 00: Canada

DSC03960.jpgDSC03958.jpgDinner at The Buttery Restaurant, were attracted by the outdoor patio and the menu 😀 Their menu is mostly simple French cusine. Escagot $12, yum!!! Drink: Lemon Drop and Cider.

DSC03961.jpgDSC03964.jpg French Onion Gratin Soup (quite good~) and Scallop.

DSC03962.jpgDSC03963.jpgRoast Duckling and Lamb. A lot of meat but very juicy, the sauce a bit too light for my taste though. I’m already very grateful after the disasterous dinners from previous nights.

DSC03955.jpgThe place is very old and historic (it survived way back from the 1812 war with Americans!) On certain nights, they have King Henry VIII theater, where they acted out a Tudor court Medival Feast. Sounds fun~~
