Back to the wonderful Amandine, everything is wonderful, especially the quiche. I’d love to live in Westwood area just for this place…

Sakura house is Japanese skewer place. We got a $20 skewer course for the 3 of us and there were more than enough food! The Seafood Noodle Salad (shrimp, glass noodle and Okra) is not part of the course. Yummy, good balance with the BBQ and grilled stuffs. I love Okra~~ Plum Wine.

The miso soup, pickle dishes and seasoned rice are part of the course. The season rice is surprisingly tasty, can’t believe someone would rather have steam rice instead. ^^;;

Asparagus Maki, Okra Maki, Chicken Meatball, Ginger Beef, Stuffed Mushroom with potato, Chicken and onion and Mochi Maki. I love all the Maki ones the most because of the thin slice of pork, especially Mochi Maki! Too bad the course didn’t come with the seafood ones which I wanted to try. Next time ^^;; Someone recommended me that their Mocha Custard is super good, so we had to get it even though we were burstingly full. And wow it IS really really good~~~ XO!! It’s worth to go to this place just for it!
My collegue recommended this awesome Mexican place nearby where I worked. From outside the windowless shack-like house doesn’t seem much, but inside it’s dark but colorful, and it has a vibrant and painterly patio. Each table in the patio are painted with different pictures. There’re cute Piñata of beer bottles shape hanging from the roof (not in pic ;_;).
The salsa for the chips are very very hot XO~ I had the Margarita (I know…during work lunch, but for me I MUST have Margarita with Mexican food, in fact that’s the point why I agree to come ^^;;)
Despite I usually don’t crave Mexican food too much, the food here is really really good. The steak and meat are all very tender and juicy. I had the tamale (the right), the portion are way too big for me. A bit try and pasty. Though my mouth water at other plates, I wish I had the middle one. Their sides (beans, guacamole) are good too.

Very cozy, homemade style authentic Brazilian food! They have these cheap Executive Lunch set during workdays, and I went back twice already. The sides: black beans, salad and rice are all very tasty and the plantains are the best I had so far. The tasty flavored rice reminds me of rice from ‘Hainan Chicken Rice.’ I got the steak this time, which was a bit hard. Last time I had chicken and that was wonderful.

I had a fresh Sugarcane juice last time and it was too sweet. This time I got Passion fruit juice and Brazilian flan. The Flan felt a bit stale and too sweet. I also like to get the Brazilian cheese bread (not in picture), my favorites, yummy~

Maybe it’s June’s gray stuffy weather, we’ve been craving sushi lately. Joan went back to Ike sushi almost every other day. We finally tried Yoshida nearby our house. It is great! Uni and Toro~~ Fresh and delicious~ On the right they are Scallop with Mayo (really good), and our must-have stable orders: Ikura and Masago.

Unlike Ike sushi that only do simple cut, Yoshida is like most gaijin-friendly sushi bar in LA that has more fancy ‘Rainbow roll” kind of sushi. We prefer simple sashimi. So we got sashimi cut of Yellow Tail and Salmon. HEAVEN!!!

We ordered steamed eggs but the waitress forgot to put in an order, so she made it up by giving us free mochi icecream dessert. 😀 We had plum wine, they look like champagne in champagne glasses.
