The bread is so good! Grilled Duck Salad, very good! *q*

We went down to San Diego over the weekend to check out west elm (furniture store) since the one in LA is not open yet. We drove 2 hours and once we arrived we heard from the phone that the LA one is opening this weekend 🙁 Oh well… We just parked randomly on Hillcrest and dashed right into the the first ok-looking French bistro we saw in emergency of a bursting bladder. ^^;; Turns out it’s pretty good! 😀

Cafe Atlantic (Old Town Pasadena)

//// By in 02: Pasadena, Favorite Food Entries

Breakfast at Cafe Atlantic, the casual but fine-dinning quality Cuban cafe I’d go back to Old Town Pasadena for (see very old entry).

This is stunningly delicious! Three Country Eggs (?). Two sunny side up eggs on top of a bread soaked in very tasty black bean soup with shrimp and bell pepper, cover with cheese. *q*

One of those rare time in which many of the co-workers can afford to take a long lunch together! So nine of us went to this Italian place that’s known for their homemade food and good pizzas. We ordered a plate of Calamari and 2 plates of family-size Spinach Salad to share. The calamari are too smalls, but the Spinach Salad is great, can’t get enough of it.

Their Pizzas are the thin crust type. Mushroom and ham pizza. I got the Lasagna and it’s gotta be the best Lasagna I’ve ever had. Usually I found Italian food too heavy (especially something like Lasagna) but this is not the case at all. The sauce is yummy!

Fish, manicotti, Italian sausage and ham pizza.

I didn’t pay attention, but the fried egg on pizza is very interesting! Getting Steak at an Italian/pizza place is a rather strange choice ^^;; And for some reason the owner gave us free red wine (because we’re such a big group?)

Carousel Restaurant (Hollywood)

//// By in 08: Hollywood

DSC06493.jpgDSC06495.jpgDSC06498.jpgWent to lunch with a friend I haven’t seen for awhile. I asked him to go to a cheaper place since I’m on tight budget (gotta start saving $$!) so he took me to this cheap cheap looking Lebanese restaurant on Hollywood Blvd. Turns out the price is NOT value at all. The food isn’t so good either, Marouch is so much better. Urgghhhhh…never trust him ever again!

Vero Cooks!

//// By in Food: Kitchen

DSC06476.jpgDSC06478.jpg
DSC06477.jpgSunday night Veronica invited us to her home and she cooked for us! 😀 She’s already a successful housewife hehe. Even though there seems to be the same ingredients in all dishes but everything tasted great! She even had a pretty cozy dinner table set up in the backyard by the pool with candle lights. BTW I just notice how nice her kitchen is. The countertop is dark grey and I love the dark brown wall!
