Local apple pie shop. The apple are in huge chunks and taste fresh and not too sweet. Custard underneath the apple too. Very good.
Almond cake with raisins inside. Banana pie. Both good.

PÂTISSERIE DÉFFERT (デフェール)
ジバラ。マンダリンナポレオン。
Left: Chocolate and marron mousse cake.
Right: Prize-winning chocolate cake. Has orange liqueur in it.
シブースト。モンブラン。
Left: Ciboust. This is very good!
Right: Mont Blanc.
アルモニ。サントノレ。
Left: Chocolate mousse cake with Jasmine brulee and Camomile sauce. Nice fragrance.
Right: Saint Honoré. My favourite!
They also have very nice cookies. Light and fluffy and crispy all at once. The one in the pack has ginger taste, very spicy and good! Not in picutres are marron galette, macaron and financier. All very good.
The cake shop is in Yokohama. A bit far for me, but it is only about 3 mins walk from the nearest train station and they have a cafe for eating in. I have tried their cakes before(see tag) when they had a booth space inside a food mall in Shibuya station.

DEL REY (デルレイ)
Marron glace ice-cream, 1890ye. Plus 10% service charge…so expensive and totally not worth it. Just watery vanilla ice-cream with like 2 micro pieces of marron glace.

My favourite dessert place has moved to Tokyo Midtown as well.
The queue in the pictures…is for take-out only!!! Apparently only 3 groups of customers are allowed inside at one time. You have to wait forever before you can actually look at the cakes. -o-;;; Anyway, I prefer the tarts and pies much more than the cakes in this place. My primary target, as always, is the one-plate dessert that you eat at the counter space. In order to eat in, you need to write down your name and come back one and a half hour later…and you must be there when they call you or your booking is cancelled for good. You can’t book in advance either. Say if you want to book for 3pm, you must be there to write down your name at 1:30pm sharp. And of course there is no guarantee that you can get in at 3pm sharp. What a nightmare…
But once you are inside, you are in heaven! I had the strawberry mille-feuille and blueberry ice-cream. So delicious~!! Fresh mint tea is very good too. The dessert used to be 1000yen but now has gone up to 1200yen…well I guess that is inevitable. Also it is a shame that the main patisserie chef mainly stays inside the kitchen where you can’t see, while it used to be open kitchen~.

Mille-feuille is not bad.

HIDEMI SUGINO (イデミ スギノ@京橋)
Fromage blanc and mascarpone mousse, thin cookie as base, whole apricot and lemon peel inside. Very light and not too sweet but with strong alcohol taste. Very nice!
Apparently this cake shop was introduced in some widely-watched TV show and became super famous. Cakes get sold out by noon cos people start queuing in the morning, even on weekdays. There is a cafe space and if you want to eat there, you also need to go in the morning, either have cakes for breakfast, or reserve your cakes and come back a few hours later. Some cakes are only for take-out and some are only for eat-in. Because of all these hassle, I simply never bothered to go. But one day my friends and I walked past at 3pm, and there were two kinds of cakes left in the showcase. My friend went “Miracle!! Miracle!!”, so even though we already had a full course French lunch, we decided to eat in. We had champagne at lunch already….but we conveniently forgot about that and had champagne again with the cakes. ^^;;;
Also bought chocolate financier with cherries, and coffee pound cake with marron. Both very good!

Patisserie Grasstiara (パティスリー・グラスティアラ)
Caramel and chocolate Mont Blanc with marron. Not so good and quite expensive(about 840yen). Cute decor and almost always empty that you can sit forever – a great hangout place.
